Sleepy in seattle

Yes i know im not really in Seattle but i am sleepy and i am in Washington, i think its a clever title and its a shame to waste it.
Its now the t'uther end of the day from my last post, every last pinto bean (i think theyre the beans they use in baked beans so it had the possibility of being a hazardous load, something about causing obnoxious gasses) off my trailer, i made a new friend while i was there, she was so small she was lovely.

After being "de-beaned" it was a 200 mile dash to Salem to pick up a load of frozen veggies and then another not quite so quick dash up to Pasco where i managed to park up (at midnight???) and tomorrow morning i will fuel up, make sure my load is good to clear customs, then bugger of back to Canada.

Anyway back to the "bean place" it is in a little town called Sutherlin, i wish i had time to go and have a little wander around, apart from having cute little doggies, it had a quaint sort of banjo playing Red-neck, sort of atmosphere to it. You know the sort of place, all the women have 2 first names like Marie Lou and Sue Ellen and all the blokes wear tatty baseball caps with "John Deer" logos on and their moustaches hang down passed their chins. A place where corn dogs are pronounced "Kown Dowgs" and generally have "Frahs on the Sahd". Anyway as usual heres the pics to prove i was there.

  1. Hi Lyndon,

That place sounds great. Are the locals friendly? Do you get any reaction when they hear you with an English accent?? Just an idea, but how about making a video blog and putting it on YOU TUBE? Would be nice to see the truck on video.

  2. Hi Andy

Yes, almost everyone i have met over here, north and south of the border are friendly, helpful and very polite.

Yes i do get a reaction on the accent, i am origionally from the Black Country so i have more of an accent anyway, people over here are genuinly fascinated by it and want to talk to you, not like in UK, when you speak, there is always some tit who feels the need to do a Jasper Carrott impression.

Not sure about a videoblog but videos in the blog are a good idea, im thinking about getting a new camera but havent menioned it to Jan yet so we will see.

All the best and drive safe

    Lyndon
