Last run before Christmas (maybe)

Had a bit of a lie in Friday morning and got down to the yard for 10:00, and 3045 was no where to be seen. Never mind, i thought, she will either be in the shop having her fire extinguisher secured or in the wash bay having her dirty bits scrubbed.

I looked everywhere and couldnt find her, next place to check was the key hooks and sure enough the keys were there, i went back out into the yard and there she was, apparently she had the fire extinguisher done and as i went one way round to the shop, the fitter bought her round the other way.

Anyway, confusion over, Jan and i threw my stuff in the back and i went to look for the trailer. Well everything was good to go so i said "Good-bye" to Jan, hooked up, scaled off and headed for the border.

Got down to meat inspection, opened the door, and thought "Oh bugger".

I was carrying boxed meat and the boxes were the size of a pallet. The last one was single stacked and had fell over.

Now the question is, did it happen at the meat plant, did it happen between the meat plant and Lethbridge, or did i do it between Lethbridge and the border....................

That we will never know i am afraid as the little inspection door had also been sealed so this was the first opportunity i had to check the load. Anyway, the important question now was, would it pass meat inspection.

I backed on the door and waited for the verdict........................

Well the first verdict was ............................ a box had fallen over.

Yes i knew that ................................. so what happens now?

We cant sit it up .................................. so what hapens now?

it stays where it is .............................. so what happens now?

We cant inspect it............................ so what happens now?

You just skipped inspection ............ oh good

You were lucky ....................................so what happens now?

You can go .............................................. thankyou and good-bye.

So there it was, box fell over, luckily skipped inspection, they rung the consignor to make sure they would accept it and of i went on my merry little way.

Got as far as Malta in Montana last night and tonight i am in Farg in North Dakota.

Nice easy run down to Waterloo tomorrow then deliver 1st thing Monday....................

We all got new kit bags from H&R, check out the pic.

One of the pics is of a deer that got run over, its a shame but on one run i counted over 30 dead animals, i ve also seen the damage they do to the vehicles.

I hate it when they load pallets like that. Why couldn't they have put the odd one in second from last, then put the last two in behind to help support it??
