So the next little mission was to be a mentor trip with one of the lads i had been in contact with on the internet. I thought it would be nice to chat about it before we set off in a more relaxed envioronment so he came round to lunch.
Wednesday morning and we met up at the Hotel, picked up Mike's gear and took it round to the truck. We were meant to be going to Milwaukee but the plans got changed for the better and we were sent down to San Antonio in Texas.
The trip down was the usual affair with a quick dash for the border and into meat inspection followed by a trundle down thru Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas. There were some horrendous storms as we crossed into Texas and Mike got some pretty impressive video footage. The delivery its self was pretty unaventful and as we were being tipped we got our next load came thru and it was a load up into Kelowna in BC.
That was an interesting trip, fantastic landscapes and we even saw some wolf cubs. It was a slightly different route to normal because of the crossing point into Canada and we saw a huge hydro electric dam.
Once into Canada it was a run up the western side of the Okanagan Valley up to Kelowna, again more fantastic views followed by an easy delivery and a hearty breakfast in a little restaurant round the corner.
The trip back to Alberta had a bit of a shakey start with a little sweat and tears on the public scales but after a little swearing and cursing and a few phone calls we were on our merry little way and in no time at all we were tucking into beef stew in a truck stop along the Canadian Highway.
This morning was an early start and we made our way into Calgary for a trailer swap and now we are in the Husky in Calgary waiting for our trip home to be loaded.
Oh yes i almost forgot, camera number 3 is now in 2 pieces so im in the market for camera number 4.
