Cascadian Ranger meets America's Favorite Trucker

The one thing i love about this job is the unpredictability, no run is ever the same, even if its to the same place, you might even say it's predictably unpredictable.

So what happened this time ?????

Well i flipped out of Fargo yesterday morning and was burning down to Minnesota and i had a thought.................

Jim Gorgone (AKA Trucker Jim) (AKA Tkrjim) (AKA America's Favorite Trucker) lives down in Iowa, i wonder where he is ???

So i got on the old dog and bone (AKA magic talking stone) (AKA Mobile Wireless Communications Device).

Okay, okay, im talking about the cell phone, dagnabit !

Anyway i called Jim and he was in Minneapolis and heading west so we would pass on the road, well that was it, an opportunity not to be missed, we exchanged 10-20's plotted a truckstop in the middle and met up for coffee (and lunch)

Now for those of you who dont know Jim (shame on you) he runs a blog site along the same lines as this one but as well as that he does loads of great videos which he posts on UTube amongst other place, go check out his site and tell him Lyndon sent ya. A link to his site can be found in this side bar and its called Trucker Jim - From Iowa. Just in case you cant find it here's the link.

I always look forward to the comments Jim leaves on my blog, we share the same sort of interests in istory and also we have a similar history. We are both ex military and both emmigrated to different countries.

Just as i was born in Britain and emmigrated to Canada, Jim was born in Connecticut and emmigrated to Iowa 8¬)

Jim is a true Yankee gentleman who is proud of his northern roots and herritage, thanks for a very enjoyable couple of hours and heres looking forward to the next time we meet up, by the way with the BBQ, consider it an open invite, if and when you can get up to Canada just let me know and I'll book a few days off.

If anyone from H&R is reading this, what i meant by 2 hours was a 15 minute bathroom break while i gave the truck and enroute inspection, checked load security and and a final paperwork check before heading off to make my delivery safely, timely and at the correct temperature, i wasnt really in the restaurant stuffing my face with bacon, eggs or shredded potato washed down with 4 cups of coffee 8¬)
