Net 10 PAYG Phones for America

Okay here's what i got from Wally World.........................

Another cell phone.

It costs $30 for the handset, plus a $30 for 300 miutes and 30 days activation top up card, and when you sign up they give you another 300 minutes and 30 days as a bonus.

Okay i hear you all ask, whats so good about it......................

Okay i'll tell you, its $0.10 per minute from anywhere in the States to anywhere in the States.
Its $0.15 per minute to Canada or UK ( or many other countries) although when you call UK you can only call landlines.

You also get a canadian number as a proxy number so when people call you in Canada they only pay local or long distance, they dont pay international call charges and as a reciever you pay either 10 cents or 15 cents i cant remember.

Apparently it wont work in Canada although Kev & Lisa have found that it does round Alberta but i will have to see.

I have got it to firstly call the office and for brokers and now i can also call friends and family back in UK while i am on the road.

Its a bit of a pain having 2 cell phones but i reckon it will save me about $150 per month.

As you can see ive got both cells fixed onto that blank bit of dash on mag mounts.
Here's the website if you want more info...............

Job done...............................

  1. Hi fella, I have been using the Net10 for about 6 weeks now. Tried to register it for international calls but something went wrong so need to call them when back in the States. Did you realise that you also pay for the call if someone rings you?
    Cheers for now,Phil

  2. Over here, thats normal, unless its written into your contract you will always pay to recieve a call.

I use it in conjunction with my Bell 10-4 system.

I use 10-4 when ever i can as first choice, the bell cell when im in canada, especially to 0800 numbers.

I use the Net10 to call anyone when i am in the states (except 10-4) and also when i am in the states people in the states should call my Net10 american number and people in Canada should call my canadian proxy number, that way no-one pays international charges.

Confusing i know but it all saves money.
