H&R Drivers - Marc "Redneck"

While picking up the "Pickles" down at Port Hueneme i met up with Marc and we drove back up to Lethbridge in convoy. This is one of the joys of working over here, you are always meeting up with other drivers and when you drive in convoy you can spend the day chatting on the CB and having a laugh, it really makes those miles go faster (and its amazing how much you learn).

Anyway, this is Marc's story........................

Marc is from a small town in Holland near Eindhoven and i think he's been over here for about a year and a half now although he has previously spent a few years living in the States. He got the urge to immigrate (as we all did) and sold his business and most of his trucks and came over here. Presently living in Lethbridge, i believe he has plans to move out into the "Sticks" with a log cabin on a small acreage. Marcs driving preference is the East coast then North into Ontario or Quebec.

As you can guess by his nickname, Marc loves everything Western and in particular, anything "Redneck". He is now more "Cowboy" than European.

As we both like country music, the conversation soon turned to that subject and Marc told me about a country artist that comes from Alberta and one song in particular which i will be featuring on this blog as we both agree it really portrays the place that moved to, please when you play it, listen to the words, it track the journey of someone who just wants to get back to Alberta and they are driving up thru Montana and crossing the border at Sweetgrass.

By the way Marc thanks for lending me those comedy tapes they were great, and stay in touch.

Safe journeys buddy.
