Some of you know Graham from his posts on britishexpats website, well he lives up in the mountains in British Columbia in a town called Kamloops and what a fantastic place. Its on a major crossroads and its is just fantastic, the views are unbelievable.
Anyway to cut a long story short i had to deliver in there then take 24 hrs break so i thought i would give Graham a call and see if he was about. Well i did and he was, so we met up.
By the way Graham thanks for the use of the facilities ( he let me grab a shower) then we went to grab a bite to eat. Those ribs were just great and guess what they were washed down with, yes you guessed it again, copious amounts of iced tea. I dont know if it is the water up there or it was the glass but the tea looked really nice and clear and it tasted great too.
Anyway Graham is a great bloke and we had a good ole chinwag about trucks and fridges and driving in Europe and all the usual stuff that drivers always seem to want to talk about when they get together. It was a great night and it was nice to talk to someone other than myself.
Hey Graham one thing i fogot to do was to get a pic, send one over and i'll stick it on the blog.
And so... ribs eaten, tea drunk and it was back to work, well back to the truck anyway coz dont forget i couldnt drive for 24 hrs.
Next day i had to get the steering sorted out coz on my pretrip i found a power steering oil leak.
The technition type fellah said "yep theres a leak okay"
...................but couldnt see where it was coming from so it was new seals all round, a wipe with a clean rag and orders to keep an eye on for a few days.
Seems okay now so that must have fixed it.

Blush all you want mate, you live in a fantastic place, and it was a pleasure to meet you at last, next time we meet up i think it will have to be steak.
ReplyDeleteIs there a Montanas Cookhouse in Kamloops????????
On the snow chain front, i keep putting it off, i know i shouldnt but im being lazy.
I promise on tuesday i will read the manual and i will try and put them on.
I know its unlikely but if you are ever in the Lethbridge area and we do the same thing round here. Jan will do a real Sunday lunch, roast (AAA Albertan) beef, yorkshire pudding, roast parsnips and spuds, mash & veg, and beef gravy.
I know you spent a lot of years in Swissland, but a roast lunch is a roast lunch.
Anyway buddy, you drive safe in the wigglers.
Lyndon
