Food ideas

Okay boys N Girls its tips time, we been out shopping and got some bits and bobs for the truck to make life a bit more comfortable. The stuff is just in the garage at the moment, when i get it all in the truck on Tuesday i will take some more pics. As you can see there is a small fridge ($90 from Walmart) Kitchen roll is essential for cleaning the pyrex measuring jug that i use for cooking in and eating out of, i know it may not look too chic but the thing is, its got a handle so its easier to hold and also your little handies dont get burnt (clever eh?)

Next is the old slimfast shakes and choccy bars, no sarky comments please!!!

Those tins of soup are ideal, $2.99 from Superstore or Walmart and they are microwavable tins so no mess, nuke it, eat it then chuck it, luckily for truckers we live in a throw away world. If anyone from Greenpeace is reading this............."Live with it !!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The water containers are ideal coz they will sit in the tool bin and the table is a TV dinner table that folds right down.

Note that the large tape measure is in both inches and centimetres, and its big enough to measure the height of a trailer. Canada is metric and USA is imperial.

  1. Lyndon,

Does your truck have a generator that supplies 120V for the TV, fridge, Micro etc and also for powering the night heater? I've seen a video of a Bison truck that had this set up fitted?

  2. Hi Andy

yes the system we use is called a tri-pack, its a small generator mounted on the frame just forward of the drive wheels, it runs heating, air con, 3 110 volt outlets, battery power monitor and various other stuff. Over the next few days i will put together a post about it and put some pics up too.

  3. Lyndon,

That fridge looks slightly bigger than the one in the Stralis. Interesting to see how it all fits in. Nice blog by the way, makes good reading.
