You've read the stories, heared the rumors, seen the trucks and shared a few laughs along the way........................
Okay, is anyone up for it ?
Thats it, is anyone ready to give up all that they know, everything that they are familiar with, jump on a plane and cruise the North American Highways.
Do you awe at the open spaces, does the idea of skating round mountains with 40 tonnes of truck and load at -42 degrees C get the adrenaline pumping.
How about burning across the Arizonan desert at 75 mph listening to ZZ Top seeing baby twisters throwing up dust in the dustance (haha i meant distance, sorry) or a 30 foot sand storm rolling across the horizon.
What about a lazy cruise round the rockies in the Fall, seeing the white tail deer, elk and long horn sheep roaming free and not behind bars. The occaisional bear, possibly with a couple of cubs in tow.
Would your family like to grow up in a cleaner, friendlier envioronment, where shop staff are polite and happy to see you, complete strangers wave to you in the street, you can actually park your car on the street down town (for a couple of bucks).
Well now could well be your big chance, H&R are going to be in UK in August on a recruiting drive, not sure on the details yet, the excact wheres and whens but if you are interested in doing what I do i am happy to answer any questions or if i dont know the answer i can find out for you, but get your aplications in early, i know interest in Canadian trucking is spiralling now and interview places are quickly filling up.
Here are the contact details:

Okay there you have it, if you want it, remember though folks its a big step so dont take it lightly!!!
I just want to point out that this post is purely for information only, H&R are aware that i have done it but i am still merely a truck driver and not a recruiter, and i do not recieve any payment for introducing anyone to the company. Having said that, if you could still say Lyndon sent ya i would be eternally gratefull.
Safe Truckin' peoples..........
Lyndon.
P.S. If anyone is tracking my progess, im off to Ottumwa in Iowa then to Vancouver in BC.
See Ya'll Later.......................
WOW! Now i know how you get all the good runs. Suck Up! **SMOOCH**
ReplyDeleteLMAO
Lyndon,
ReplyDeleteHave you pulled the fuse out of your new truck already? 75MPH? With that speed the mileage based pay should be flooding in...
Ok Lyndon, you have convinced us!! I have an interveiw with H & R for next month at Lethbridge that just slots into our visit to Calgary, how convenient. Contacted then through the internet and three days later a Fedex package came through the post with all their details etc. Very impressed at the speed it came & the content. Keen to see the area around Lethbridge and the actual set-up. Maybe get to meet the legend-Lyndon and report back. Roger.
ReplyDeletehi lyndon,i would love to move to lethbridge cos i fell in love with the place when we visited the out laws.
ReplyDeletehow long did you have your english class 1 licence before you emigrated?
luv the blog,drive safe.
jools
Hi Lyndon,
ReplyDeleteBeen enjoying your blog for some time now, I check in every other day for your latest adventures.
Noticed you have recently mentioned H+R's latest UK recruitment drive, is it true that they are looking for Class 2 drivers also?
Keep on blogging and keep us all up to date on your travel, thanks for your efforts.
Aly
Hi Finch.
ReplyDeleteI dont need to suck up do I ?
Ive got a new truck
I get good runs
I get time off when i want it.
Now if there was a top of the range Peterbilt at stake and a dedicated run to Miami then you would witness some serious sucking up !! 8¬)
Hi Andy.
ReplyDeleteI wish you would pay attention, i am a Cascadian and as such i work on a 30 hour day and each hour has the metric 100 minutes.
Now do the math..............
Hi Roger
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you like our little world, hope to run into you (not literally)out on the highways or even back at the 'Bridge. Keep us posted on the progress.
Lyndon
Hi Jools
ReplyDeleteYep life is nice in the 'Bridge, i could never imagine going back to the Island now.
I got my HGV 1 when i was about 23 (4 years ago) 8¬)
Not sure excactly what H&R are looking for now but i can tell you they are now getting a bit picky as a lot of people are trying to get in.
If you are interested in joining the "Big Red Team" then i would get in touch with Steve asap and tell himm what you've got to offer and take it from there.
Hi Aly
ReplyDeleteYou seem very familiar, did you used to post on the forums as Aly Cat or something like that.
Either way welcome to the blog.
I dont think H&R are recruiting Class 2 drivers and i dont think they would qualify for PNP anyway although i may be wrong.
What i would suggest is to contact VRV in Calgary and speak to Eugene Mekenkamp.
www.vrv.ca
403-269-2224
and see what they have on their books, now there is no cost for them recruiting into H&R but i cant speak for other companies, make sure you ask to avoid any nasty surprises.
Hope that helps
Lyndon
