Backload For Canada

Pretty uneventful day today for a change. Woke up this morning and got a message to hang fast for an hour so thats what i planned to do. Ten minutes later got a message to get washed out and head for Darien. Well there was a "Blue Beacon" Truck Wash just over the road so that was my first port of call followed by a 60 minute drive to Darien Wisconsin.

Got loaded with meat and set off for South Beloit Flying J to fuel up, scale off and fax the paperwork to the broker. Ive now started using different companies to fax rather than Flying J. With the "J" ou have o do it all yourself, with companies like Road Ranger or Pilot you just give hem all the papers and they do it for you, and it costs about the same amount anyway.

Once that was done it was 500 mile drive to Fargo ND which is where i am now, i couldnt believe it when i got here, normally there is always plenty of spaces, tonight there was just one and that was because in was so difficult to get in. If you are quick and you zoom in on the map you can see exactly where i am parked on the flying j,you will have o use satellite mode though.

Anyway i decided i was going to have that space even if it took me all night to shunt in, it took about 20 shunts and a lot of jumping in and out the cab as i was coming in at a weird angle and had about 4 inches on either side but in the end it was mine and i managed to do it without swapping paint with anyone or anything. i always feel quite smug when i get spaces like that especially when half dozen other drivers have failed to claim it. Unfortunatly there was no-one to witness my moment of triumph tonight but who cares, i found a parking space.

Tomorow is going to be an equally boring day and it will go something like this (hopefully):

Fuel up at Fargo.
Head West for Jamestown.
Head North west for North Portal.
Stop at the border.
Grab 2 bottles of Sasperilla for Jan & Luke to try.
Cross the border.
Drive to Swift Current.
Pull the curtains.

Then the next day i will either trundle into Lethbridge or Calgary then its 3 days off. It wont be much of a rest though coz Saturday we are looking at houses and going out saturay night, sunday its off to the photographers for the immigration photos and Monday its up to Calgary to sort out the immigration paperwork, then Tuesday its back in the truck.

No peace for the wicked !!!
