Remember what i said before about scaling. Everytime you get loaded or pick up a loaded trailer, you check your axle spacings then go and weigh each axle group at the nearest public scale. In Canada, H&R has got an account with DAI who have scales all over the place.
They are pretty easy to use;
- Stop before scales
- Enter your pin number and details into the machine
- Go back to your cab and wait for the yellow light
- On the yellow light, put your steers onto the scale, light goes out
- On the yellow light, pull forward until your drives are on the scale, light goes out
- On the yellow light, pull forward until all axles are on the scale, light goes out
- Walk back to the machine and get printout
- When all weights are legal then bugger off
- If axles are over then adjust and reweigh
- Go to instruction 8
These pics are of the scale in Lethbridge, about 5 blocks from the yard.
Hi Lyndon...when you've moved the axles if needed, do you just drive the whole lot on or do you have to go through the whole rigmarole.cheers.. keep up the good work. Regards Garry
ReplyDeleteHi Garry
ReplyDeleteYou drive off the scales, find a safe place (ahem) do the adjusting, then go thru the whole process again.
For scales other than DAI, you have to pay, it cost me $8.50 down in LA 2 days ago and $1 for the reweigh. As long as you keep reciepts then H&R reimburse you when you get paid for that trip.
