Turned up Friday morning and 3045 was still in the shop having her rivets painted so i grabbed the paperwork and said hello to Sherrie my new dispatcher. David Foder (fleet director) came over to say "HI" then it was back down to the shop to drag 3045 back out into the cold.
Jan and I threw my gear into the truck then i went round to collect the trailer and scale off. Who ever bought the trailer down from Cargills hadnt set the axles correctly but that was only a 2 minute job and i was on my way.
Caught a full inspect down at the meat inspection so i used the time to sort the cab out, make the bed up and generally tidy up.
I had to get as far south as i could yesterday so it was a quiet night in a rest stop and a chocolate shake and creal bar for brekkie.
Today was slightly easier and i am parked up at the J in Winnamucca, the place where Butch Cassidy made his fortune apparently.
Tomorrow i deliver into Tracy California so its up bright and early and over Donna's Pass before breakfast. Dispatch are pretty much on the ball this week as i have already got my backload organised, 2 Safeway pickups in Merced and Sacremento for Calgary.
Its worked out pretty well with minimum time lost so im looking to be back in Lethbridge by late afternoon Wednesday.
Roads are still clear at the moment although the Nevada desert is a little snowy
