Yesterday it was important that i got back home and cleaned up as it was Luke's Carol Concert and i was really looking forward to it.
When we were in UK i never managed to get to any of those sort of things so this one was important to me, and Luke has been practicing really hard for weeks now. He would never admit it (coz its not cool) that he was excited about it but it was obvious that he was.
Anyway we turned up a little early to get good seats, it was held in the Theatre area of the Town Hall which was really well laid out, the seating was similar to cinema seating so you could actually see what was going on.
The Foyer was all decked out with Christmas trimmings and had tables all round the walls stacked with home made goods, jellies, cookies, cakes, candy, all made by the local families.
Any way the concert got underway after some last minute orchestral rearranging and we all stood for "Oh Canada".
There were 3 bands from the various Grades, a percussion band and a Jazz band.
The music started with traditional carols and progressed, thru classical, opera and ended up with a couple of Jazz numbers.
When it was over we made our way out thru the foyer where everyone was wishing everyone a "Happy Holiday". With that and the fact that it was snowing made it all feel very festive and it was a really nice feeling
A really good night.
